Amin meets Nyerere

"The BBC's Swahili Service brought the two together to reflect on the five-month conflict, which left half a million people dead and culminated with Tanzania troops ousting Amin from Kampala on 10 April 1979."

Did the BBC really have to hold a summit to make elicit these statements? It seems to me that Jaffar Amin and Madaraka Nyerere could have sent these comments in via email. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed the retrospective!

It wasn't a summit. I saw it as an opportunity to reflect on the Kagera War of thirty years ago, but, more important, an opportunity to look to the future.
