Mike Dierck's latest post reminded me of this story:
Katrina and I were ferrying 5 Houghton students around Dar es Salaam on Tuesday. While we were stuck in traffic, a beggar knocked on the window, and I shrugged my shoulders, indicating I didn't want to give anything. His response? Rip the sideview mirror off our Land Cruiser and book it across the road while I am still thinking, "Is this really happening?!" I still can't decide whether he was motivated by spite or greed (it will cost us nearly $200 to buy a new one). Hmm.

It's so exciting that you guys have time to write/read blogs again. :-) Your story made me laugh out loud. Pole sana bwana. Tunafurahi sana kwa sababu mnaporudi nuyumbani hapa Merikani tutawatembelea kwa muda mrefu. Karibu sana kwetu pia!
Although it's too bad that you lost your mirror I am also laughing hysterically inside (not out loud because i"m in class).
Wow is really the best I can say.
