This week has been absolutely crazy busy as I try to tie up as much construction as I can before leaving Masumbo on Friday to begin our trip to the Philippines for Christmas. Dan Holcomb is here visiting for the week as well, providing an extra hand to me, and providing lots of entertainment for some of our Tanzanian friends here (he knows 4 or 5 jokes in kiswahili...plus he's Dan).
setting bolts in the foundation
To confirm the rumours, I was struck by lightning on Sunday, minutes after claiming that I didn't believe in divine retribution. Ha! While tubing on the Ruaha River with Dan, Katrina saw the bolt hit my shoulder as we were overcome by a sudden thunderstorm. I'm no worse for the wear, believe it or not! Mungu ananipenda (God loves me).

I don't believe you. Lightning, for real?
Yes. Lightning for real!
you would think living on the mountain all those years would have been your ticket to a lightning strike, but no!
glad to hear that you're ok!!

The title of your penultimate post - does that coincide with Dan's arrival? Just curious...
I hadn't planned that, but it works well doesn't it? :-)
