I've been flying with David this past week, doing aerial photography over forest reserves here in southern Tanzania. These photos are then stitched together into a photo-map by WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society) member Guy Pictin-Phillips, the resident GIS (Geographic Information Science) expert.
On our return from Image (pronounced: E-mahg-E) Mountain this morning, I snapped this photo of Masumbo Campus, where we are living:
Masumbo Campus (click on photo for larger image)
The campus occupies a bend in the Little Ruaha River, which keeps things quite green, even during the height of the dry season.
It is difficult to label all of the detail in this photo. Perhaps I will attempt to draw in labels in Photoshop when I have the time. Those of you who have been here can probably pick details out.
