What's wrong with this picture?
Can you see it yet? This is about how close I was when Mikal (our guard) pulled me back. "Paulo, nyoka!" he yelled, "Ni hatari sana!" All of a sudden, I saw it!
A Vine Snake, one of the few deadly snakes in Africa who's venom has no antidote. Thankfully, it's a backfang, meaning you have to stand still and let the thing chew on you in order to be poisoned.
Mikal in a classic pose with a dead snake. He killed it in one swipe of his stick. Thanks Mikal!

Can't say I've had any snake experiences yet, but plenty of nasty poisonous spider episodes.
