One of the better-liked professors on campus, Dr. Brad Beach, was not given tenure this fall, a decision which was made unilatterally. This event brought the burgeoning administration-faculty, and administration-student tensions to a head. Tonight, a "Save the Beach" coffeehouse/forum was sponsered by the SGA in order to provide a context for concerns to be heard. Leroy Townes and the Lone Stars highlighted a lineup of music, singing CSN&Y's "Ohio", much to the liking of Dr. Walters (who remembers Kent State) and myself (who doesn't).
