Today Sean and I dropped Shamari LaCour and Regina Fortes off at the Buff. Airport. Afterward, we decided to do some Christmas shopping, so we hit up the Galleria. As Sean's car pulls into the mall parking lot...BAM!...out of nowhere, a kestrel hammers a little sparrow right out of the air and commences its meal right there on the mall parking lot. As Sean rolled his eyes, I snuck toward the gruesome scene with fascination. After snapping this picture, I proceded closer:
Unfortunately, the closer I got, the more confident I was that I could get even CLOSER, so I held off taking another picture until at about 5 paces distance, the bird finally freaked out and flew off through the parking garage. I suppose that predators have to work with what they can in the cement jungle of Buffalo!

i don't see the sparrow
incidentally, i can NEVER type the word verification thingy correctly! argh...
You're not SUPPOSED to see the sparrow...it's too small, and it's being eaten. So I guess we'll just have to trust Paul on this one! Or maybe we can ask Sean to corroborate... :)
Good story, Paul! Wild America in a mall parking lot - priceless!
chomp chomp CHOMP sparrow bones down the hatch.
yes, hunting in suburbia...interesting concept.
